Heisman Winner. Super Bowl Champion. Reggie Bush. The man that inspired most of the young running backs in the league today. He was the staple of what a running back looked like in the mid 2000s. Year after year Reggie Bush dominated college football. In 3 years he posted a total of 4,470 offensive yards with 38 touchdowns. Not only was he a role model at the running back position, he was also a stud as a return man with 1500+ return yards and 3 touchdowns in those same years. He was an all around threat. He went on to win the Heisman his last year in college before declaring pro in 2006.
Going #2 overall to the New Orleans Saints, Reggie Bush had a lot of hype to live up to. People expected the same dominance as he had in college. Though this did not happen, Reggie Bush was still apart of the 2010 NFL Champion Saints. Since then, Reggie has bounced around the league with multiple teams having solid seasons though never being good enough to be considered a Pro-Bowl player. Even though his career has been over shadowed by dominance from other players at his position such as Ladainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Jamaal Charles, we still remember Reggie for his college days of glory.
In recent history, the NCAA has deleted all of Reggie's stats from their records due to the fact that he received payments from outside sources which is illegal as a college athlete. We as sports fans cannot allow Reggie to be forgotten. He is one my personal childhood heroes and a college legend in many eyes . His legacy must continue to live on even if White America doesn't agree with him making money for himself.
