Why Certain Artist Don’t Need Albums

The problem with music today is that there are so many artist that drop albums every week. There isn’t a really a time for us to enjoy new music. Sadly that is a topic for another day. I feel the we could minimize the amount of albums that come out a year. I understand from a business standpoint on why we have albums , but some artist are just better with a bunch of singles or features. A perfect artist whose stuck to this plan is O.T. Genisis. He’s very consistent with dropping hit after hit, yet we’ve yet to see an album or mixtape from him. Honestly, no one is asking for one from him but nobody will tell you that O.T is garbage.
One artist that could benefit more from this would be Ty Dolla $ign. Even though I really like Dolla $ign , it’s just that I don’t need an album from him. He’s not that type of artist to me. The real artist that would also benefit from stritcly singles would be the so called “Mumble Rappers” such as: Lil Pump, Lil Yatchy, 21 Savage, Rich The Kid, Smokepurpp and Famous Dex. I like songs by all of these artist but we don’t need full projects from them. Their singles slap but listening to this type of music doesn’t really transfer album wise. Also, once these albums flop, it reflects bad on their talent. There’s nothing wrong with just dropping singles and features. Especially since that’s what most people listen to on the daily anyways.
