Growing up in a black community, my parental experience was very different than others. I grew up with both parents. I never noticed that it was a blessing because my family members and friends also grew up with both parents. Yes, I had friends who's parents had divorces but that was rare, and still then the father was still in the child's life. The older I've become and the more people I've been talking to as of late, I've noticed that this isn't really the case in a lot of black homes, which is sad honestly. The children of Baby Boomers, who's fathers were known for abandoning the family, are also a group of trash individuals. You would assume that it would lead to a group of men who vow to not be like the father that was never there. Instead, most of these men are just as bad, and even worse they don't even take responsibilities for their actions. I think this has led to the common phrase that men are trash in our society. I don't think this phrase is true though. I think that women don't really want what's best for them. There's tons of men that are good out there yet women just don't give them a chance. There are tons of clear indications of how good or bad an individual is. Most women just choose to ignore the signs of a bad man. I also think people take the wrong route into choosing individuals as well. The whole idea of marrying your best friend is something that most people will agree with yet they won't even give their actual best friend a chance. It's just something I will never understand. This definition of the friend zone and how many honest to good men are in it is sad. This society has everything all wrong and this is why many people struggle with success in finding a good person. I hope that people will one day wake up and realize how much better things can be.
