Artist of the Week: Tyler, the Creator

After Yonkers, everything changed for Tyler. The Yonkers video, for those who have somehow not seen it, Tyler sits on a stool, eats a roach, and then hangs himself. Hipsters everywhere lost their damn mind and fell in love. Personally, I thought it was fake roach, well it wasn't, which is gross. Luckily, I'm an open minded person and I was able to look past this video and go listen to his other music,  which was at the time, Bastard and the rest of Goblin. These two albums were golden. This was many people's introduction to West Coast music with a different sound. It didn't sound like Kendrick or YG. Tyler is a young successful mogul that is highly overlooked by mainstream media. His music deserves multiple Grammys yet it's not meant for old white people. He's the founder of OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All), which is a rap group/ label with some big names in it, including Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean. Yes. Frank Ocean is in Odd Future. Tyler also is the creator of Golf Wang, his clothing line that is completely ran by Tyler. He has a show on Adult Swim called Loiter Squad. He also throws a really big festival called Camp Flog Gnaw that big artist in the industry perform at such as Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper and many more. On top of all of that, he also has multiple versions of his own pair of Vans that he's designed personally.
